Interviews

Amy Porterfield

Go from Skilled Employee to Successful Entrepreneur

You guys. I. love. Amy Porterfield. I want to be her bestie. Not only is she warm and fun and kind, she also seriously knows her stuff. She worked in marketing for some giant brands – including Tony Robbins – before going out on her own, so you know she’s got marketing chops. But I also love that, like me, she was actually a great employee, and not a “born entrepreneur” that we hear about (think poor grades, a rebel attitude and an almost unemployable quality.) That might be why she had so many doubts at the beginning, could she really pull of an online business? The answer to that is a resounding yes! Learn how she built her online course empire.

YOU WANTED TO KNOW…

Why did you choose to have Amy as a guest?

She is a millionaire online entrepreneur, marketing genius with a popular podcast and over 300K Facebook followers, plus I knew she’d worked for Tony and had an interesting career to talk about.

How’d you get the interview?

I had reached out to Amy’s assistant previously because she is a VA for another past guest, so I emailed her about the opportunity.

What was she like?

SO great. Instant friend, humble, warm, smart!

Did you hear anything from her after the episode was published?

No, and this surprised me and makes me wonder if she didn’t like how it turned out, but I can’t obsess about that. I just have to do my best and write the article that I “see” and hope they love it too.
