YOU WANTED TO KNOW…
Why did you choose to have Tom as a guest?
I’d watched Tom’s interviews for years when he hosted Inside Quest and now Impact Theory. He’s a passionate and well-read guy, but then I dug into his history and story before and during Quest Nutrition and knew he’d make a great guest!
How’d you get the interview?
His publicist reached out to me a while ago and then I followed up when I saw he’d be in Dallas!
Where was the interview?
At a hotel in Dallas
What was he like in person?
Very nice, friendly, passionate, exactly as you’d expect from all of his videos.
Did anything go wrong?
Welllll it turns out, technically, we were not supposed to shoot with him at that hotel after his speaking gig because it was a “closed” event – meaning no press. I didn’t realize this and truthfully it shouldn’t have mattered because we were no where near the event, didn’t mention it, we weren’t trying to get coverage of it, etc. But I guess it was a step on their toes because the event sent me a strongly worded email about the ordeal, and I sincerely hope they didn’t give Tom any flack for it! (insert anxious face emoji) I’m guessing that’s why, even though his crew was there filming, he didn’t put me in his vlog of the event (sad trombone.)
oh and my spanx were showing the entire time. awesome. #facepalm
